Crafts, Laughs, and Fighting the Gestapo!
๐ 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Join us at A Pleasant Dog (1430 Knapp St NE) for a gathering of crafts, laughs (and/or tears), and fighting the gestapo! Is watching these rapidly escalating atrocities unfolding day by day chipping away at your hope for a better future? You are not alone! We are living in unprecedented times and although it can be hard to know what to do or where to turn, we all know that we must stand together and fight back. Even though there are countless ways that we all can and should be fighting against this authoritarian regime, among the most crucial are connecting with your community and raising money to directly support those on the front lines, together we can do both! Crafting has been shown to help regulate our nervous systems, so what better way to connect with our community than to collectively regulate our nervous systems while standing up against the oppressive systems that surround us. Crafting supplies for creating keychains, pipe-cleaner pups, plus varying levels of knitting and crochet creations will be provided, but donโt be afraid to get even more creative; along with snacks and soft drinks. All crafts created using APD materials will then be listed on our Etsy shop, once sold: 100% of the proceeds will be donated to GR Rapid Response Team and Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee. We will also have our beloved Al(Allison) LMSW, who is a therapist and licensed social worker with years of experience working with kids and families recovering from traumatic events, present for crafting days; to help us work through the emotions that arise when dealing with so much collective trauma. Although, if youโd prefer to craft without the pressure of participating in conversation, we will still greatly appreciate your company! RSVP encouraged via Facebook invite or an email to parker@apleasantdog.com to ensure we have sufficient space and materials, but all (except ICE) are welcome to join us, regardless of an RSVP.

Craft & Connect
๐ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Craft & Connect is our every-other-Friday evening gathering for people who like to make things and talk while doing it. Officially, itโs a space to bring your work in progress: knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand-sewing, or any portable craft. Unofficially, itโs stitch nโ bitch, so bring your vents, rants, and raves as well! Projects that have been seen at a C&C night: unfinished novels, blackout poetry, nail polish, amigurumi, linocut stamping, scrapbooks, bullet journals, washi tape, bracelet-making, cartooning, painting, embroidery, hemming, stuffed animal assembly... Come with your half-finished projects, your tangled yarn, and your need to yap your way through questionable pattern choices. Craft&Connect is a low-pressure, high-conversation hangout where progress is optional and community is the whole point. All skill levels and questions welcome!
Heart Book Page Folding
๐ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Join us for a book page folding class where we are going to slow down and socialize, while turning recycled pages into a heart. All supplies and step-by-step guidance are provided; you just get to show up ready to fold, breathe, and make something charming without buying a single sad teddy bear.
