"Friends of Dorothy" is a LGBTQIA+ Book Club hosted by Jackie & Bex of Ionia Round Table! Each month has unique themes, and monthly meetings are held at Bettie's Pages in Lowell, MI. September's pick is A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee, a dark academia set at a boarding school with a dark history, a recent tragic death, and two girls with a magnetic pull to each other. Officially, it's a space to bring your work in progress: knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand-sewing, or any portable craft. Unofficially, it's stitch n' bitch, so bring your vents, rants, and raves as well! Projects that have been seen at a C&C night: unfinished novels, blackout poetry, nail polish, amigurumi, linocut stamping, scrapbooks, bullet journals, washi tape, bracelet-making, cartooning, painting, embroidery, hemming, stuffed animal assembly... Scents & Sensibility is a recurring series of intimate, hands-on fragrance classes at The Bluestocking Bookshop, happening every other Thursday evening. Each session features a different creative project and a curated selection of fragrances to explore, blend, and make your own. For $20, you'll get all the supplies and guidance you need to create something wonderful while spending an evening playing with scent, chatting with fellow fragrance enthusiasts, and generally doing something a little more interesting than whatever else you had planned for your Thursday night.
